Tree light up at Stuart Park

The Downtown Kelowna Winter Street Market returns this weekend, bringing festive fun to the heart of downtown on Saturday, Dec. 3.

This free, festive outdoor celebration features over 50 artisan and market vendors, family-friendly activities and live entertainment. The tree light up takes place at 4:45 pm at Stuart Park.

Enjoy hot chocolate by donation (proceeds to the Central Okanagan Food Bank), or sip on an “adult beverage” while strolling the market.

Musicians include the classic rock band The Zamboni Bros, singer/songwriter Mitch Zorn, the a cappella group UBCO Beats, 18-year-old Chayce Kennedy, and cover tunes by Johnny V.

Shayla Allison will open the entertainment line-up with a drum & vocal performance of the “Okanagan Song,” along with telling traditional stories of the Okanagan Nation. Don’t miss the performing arts of Kinshira Entertainment with stilt walkers, fire dancers, and themed costumes.

To accommodate the event, road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect throughout the day. Water Street between Queensway and Doyle Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic beginning at 5:30 a.m. and will remain closed until approximately 8:30 p.m. The roundabouts at Queensway and Doyle Ave., however, will remain open throughout the day.

Traffic control personnel will be stationed in the area to manage traffic during the closure.

The first bay of the City Hall parking lot, directly adjacent to Water Street, will also be blocked off for the duration of the event.
