Black Hills Estate Winery has partnered with the BC Hospitality Foundation (BCHF) to host a Virtual Valentine’s Soiree on Friday, February 12. Guests at the exclusive online event will enjoy an evening of wine, music, and entertainment in their own homes.
Barenaked Ladies co-founder Steven Page, joins tribute group ABBA Arrival, and Jason Priestley in the line-up.
Black Hills hopes to bring a bit of joy and love to people who must stay at home due to measures related to COVID-19. “We love to get involved and make a positive difference to the foodservice community that has been so supportive of our winery over the last 20 years,” says Black Hills executive Glenn Fawcett. “If we can do that in a fun way that involves wine, food, and music, we consider that a win-win for everyone involved.”
The Soiree is an innovative way to celebrate Valentine’s Day safely. Following live musical performances, Jason Priestley of 90210 fame will talk on the history and folklore of Black Hills, and Master of Wine, Ross Wise, will guide guests through an elevated tasting of Black Hills wines.
Access to the event is included for anyone who purchases a special Valentine’s Day three-bottle tasting pack of Black Hills wines, with prices starting from only $115 per household. As an added bonus, for this event only, Black Hills has released 25 cases of its award-winning 95-point 2018 Carmenere.
The wine will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Order online by end of day February 8.

Dana Harris, Executive Director of the BCHF, says the charity is grateful for the support. “Last year was rough for everyone in our industry, and the generosity of individuals and of businesses like Black Hills was what made it possible for us to continue helping people who have nowhere else to turn. We’re also delighted to be associated with an event like the Soiree, as it’s such a great example of what our local hospitality industry is all about, which is people enjoying themselves and connecting with others.”
As a bonus, Earls Restaurants across Canada will be providing a select three-course meal kit available for guests who wish to order it online and pick it up at their closest Earls Restaurant.
“Earls is excited to be the exclusive restaurant partner for this year’s Black Hills Estate Winery virtual Valentine’s Day event. Our Valentine’s Day dinner kit for two, with three decadent courses will enrich this Black Hills tasting experience, says Earls corporate chef Dave Wong
Black Hills is donating $5 for each Valentine’s three-pack of wines, $10 per six-pack of wines and $20 per 12-pack of wines to the BCHF.
