50th Parallel Estate Winery, located in the scenic Lake Country of British Columbia, marks its 15th anniversary this year.

On June 8, the community will celebrate the milestone anniversary with a formal black-tie gala and the grand opening of a new wine cave. Guests will be treated to an elaborate culinary experience that includes canapés, various food stations and delectable desserts provided by Block One Restaurant.

The entertainment for the evening features a cave casino where guests can engage in games of chance in a unique setting. Live music and opportunities to dance will keep the energy high throughout the night.

A significant aspect of the gala is the commitment to community support. Proceeds from the silent auction will go to the KGH Foundation for cancer care.

50th Parallel is distinguished not just by its wines but also by its striking architecture and the comprehensive wine destination experience it offers, highlighted by its expansion in 2018, which included enlarging the winery and adding the restaurant.

With the first 10 acres hand-planted in 2009, the estate now encompasses over 55 acres under vine. Its focus is on cultivating high-quality Pinot Noir, which constitutes about 35 percent of its production.

50th Parallel will also join the Taste event on June 23 with its neighbouring wineries along the Scenic Sip Wine Trail in Lake Country. One of the Okanagan Spring Wine Festival’s signature events, the event includes a self-guided tour of six wineries, with each stop offering an elevated wine and food pairing. In total, five regional Taste events are part of the festival including the Naramata Bench on June 2, the District Wine Village on June 8 and 9, and a Rosé-focused Taste event at Sandhill Wines in Kelowna on June 13.
